Graduation pictures will start on Thursday December 6th and continue right on through next week. You can sign up for appointments at the office. Make sure you arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment as there is some paperwork that needs filling out, it also gives you time to put on the gown for the pictures. When you arrive at your appointment make sure that you pay before the session. Also be sure to dress nice and put on your best smile.
Starting on November 26 and going on until December 22, for the next few weeks, the James M. Hill Memorial High School will be supporting their annual "Tommies Give Back" activities. Staff and students alike are asked to come up with a festivity of their choosing to hold for someone in the community. Whether it'd be Christmas cards, fundraisers or donations to schools or senior homes, this year will be especially merry for everyone in our Miramichi community.
This week the JV boy’s practices will be changed to Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The team practices will remain this way for the rest of the year. The Saturday conditioning is still not weekly but we may do it occasionally. Practices will be from 7:00 until 8:30 on Tuesday and Thursday. The Friday practices will continue but with a different time. Ryan is still away therefor Josh Mullin will still be doing our practices. Ryan will be returning next week. There are 2 games scheduled for the month of December, One on the sixth and one on the twelfth.

The Varsity Girls basketball team travelled to Salisbury today to play the first two games of the JMA tournament. They played their first game at 3:15pm against Amherst. Our Tommies took the win, finishing the game 71-44! The second game was played at 7:30 against the JMA Varsity Girls, out Tommie girls fought hard and pulled a win finishing the game strong with 48-38! We’re sending our Tommie support to our varsity girls tomorrow during their final two games tomorrow!
The girls hockey team took on Blackville on Wednesday, November the 21st. The girls didn’t get the outcome they were hoping for. They lost 11-1. Brooke O‘Neill scored their only goal that night. Since Brooke scored their only goal, she got the hard hat, which is for the most valuable player for that game!
The girls hockey team was supposed to play Tracadie on Wednesday the 28th, but the game was cancelled due to the weather. The girls will be taking on Campbellton on Friday at 6:45! They will be playing again on Wednesday, December the 5th against EME. Come support your tommies at the LBA at 6:05.
Yesterday, Tuesday November 27, 2018, from 11:35 am to 12:30 pm, the James M. Hill Memorial High School hosted their Lunch with a Big Bunch get-together. Every student and member of staff came on down to the cafeteria for some delicious Pizza Delight pizza and to have a great time with one another. With a thousand slices of pizza and nearly four hundred people, I'd say Lunch with a Big Bunch was an appetizing success!
If you missed the JV girls Basketball game last week, on Thursday November 22nd, I’ll keep you updated, but be sure to catch the next game! Sadly, MVHS high school took the winning spot by 3 points with a 29-26, but it was still a very tight game! Emma Clark led the girls with the highest amount of points with 7 total, good job Emma! Her follow up with the second highest amount of points was Miranda Buckley with 6 points. Over all, everyone played a good fair game. They didn’t beat MV this time, but they will next time for sure. You go girls!
