Criteria: 
Any grade 12 student who has been accepted into an accredited post-secondary institution. Based on individual's financial need, academic standing and community involvement.

New Brunswick Public Colleges Entrance Scholarship

Eligibility

All Anglophone and Francophone New Brunswick public high school graduate students accepted (or on a waiting list) in the current year at any campus of the New Brunswick Community College, the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick or the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design are eligible.

One scholarship is available for each New Brunswick public high school in the year for which it was granted.

 

Value

The total value of this scholarship is $1,000 awarded in two equal installments against to student tuition fees: the 1st installment is awarded at the beginning of the academic year, and the 2nd at the beginning of the second term upon successful completion of the first term and the student has returned to class.

 

Deadline

All applicants must submit the completed application form to their high school Guidance Office no later than May 27th.

Note: Applications received after this date will not be considered.

UNB Scholarship

Value: Average value $600/year (4Year term)
Criteria: 
1) Applicants must be  a Scotsman, Scotswoman, or be of Scottish decent
2) Must have been accepted for entrance to Arts, Science or applied Science course at university
3) Financial need to be taken into consideration in deciding among applicants
4) If the recipient fails to maintain pass-standing he/she, at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee, may be required to forfeit the scholarship
 
The Highland Society of New Brunswick At Miramichi John Crosbie Memorial Scholarship
Value: $3500
Criteria
1) Must be a member or a son or daughter of a member in good standing of the Highland Society Of New Brunswick at Miramichi
2) Must be attending a first year program at a recognized Canadian university
3) Financial need to be a consideration in deciding among applicants
4) One-half amount payable in the fall; second half on proof on satisfactory first-term results
 
Educational Grants
Value: $2500
Criteria:
1) Relatives of members of Highland Society of New Brunswick at Miramichi in good standing, (sons, daughters, grandchildren, nephews, nieces).
2) Must be planning to attend an institution providing post-secondary education.
3) Financial need to be considered in deciding among applicants
 
Deadline: Applications must be mailed by September 15

National Union Of Public and General Employees Scholarship for Visible minorities

Value: $1500
Who is eligible: One of your parents/grandparents must belong to or retired from one of the National Union Components or affiliates.

Value: $2750
Eligibility-
- Open to students pursuing their first year of post-secondary education at an accredited university or college.
-Students must have lived in NB for at least one year as of the application deadline.
** 2 bursaries will be granted to: 1 member/1 non-member of the Credit Union**

Information Session

 

 

 

Saint Mary’s University is hosting their Next Steps Event on Monday, February 27th at the Rodd Hotel in Miramichi at 7:00 pm. This is a very important event to learn about financing your education, as well as how to apply for residence, confirm your seat, and register for your first-year classes! For any students who have yet to apply – the application fee will be waived for this event. Students can RSVP at   smu.ca/events

Saint John Diocesan Catholic Woman's League Bursary (Available in Guidance)

Value: $500
Deadline: March 14th, 2017

I am the Programs Coordinator for Nature NB (a non-profit organization).

 

I am contacting guidance counselors to share information about our scholarship fund. If you know of any students who would qualify, I hope you will pass along this information. Details are below.

 

The Mary Majka Scholarship Fund was established with the intent to further youth engagement with nature and our natural heritage.  This scholarship is open to New Brunswick students from middle school to those attending an undergraduate program. Awards will be granted on a yearly basis ranging from $250 to $1000. Deadline is March 31st.

 

Two types of scholarships are available:

 

1) Awarded to a person that is or will be studying in the field of natural sciences with an interest in nature and the environment (awarded as a study scholarship)

 

2) Awarded to a youth wanting to further their knowledge in the natural sciences (awarded as a contribution to cover specific expenses such as for workshop participation).
