Students are to complete all questions for the short story "Mr. Know All'. The final writing assignment is to be handed in for evaluation on Friday so ensure it is done neatly and correctly.  Some students will be participating in the State of the Youth and Child Address tomorrow  - good luck and enjoy.   
You are currently working on a draft for a character sketch of Dave Diamond - the main character in "A Cap for Steve".  The edited draft (either in handwriting or typed) is due Wednesday, November 17, 2010 for peer assessment.   Refer to your rubric when editing to ensure you are on the right track.  Be prepared Wednesday with your draft, and know your rubric well enough to peer-assess.    Your final copy of the character sketch is due Thursday, November 19.   We will be moving on to a new story on Tuesday, so make good use of your time to finish this writing assignment,

This marks the end of two great classic pieces of literature!  Congratulations!  Over the next  two days you will be finishing your "Questions to Consider" worksheet and a few writing activities in responses to poems that are closely linked to "Death of a Salesman".    Wednesday, November 17, your edited draft is to be completed for peer assessment - please bring it to class either in handwritten or typed format.  The final copy is due Friday, November 19. The next project involves some research - refer to to re-familiarize yourself with research papers.

"A Cap for Steve" short story Students are completing their plot diagram and questions 1,3,4 and 5 on the  accompanying sheet. This is due Monday, November 8.  Also students are to have in-depth notes on the main character, Dave Diamond in preparation for a formal character analysis which will be completed next week.

Students have completed the final asignment in the essay unit - those who are not finished must complete it tonight.  As well, your jounal must reflect your reading from the past week - have it updated properly for tomorrow's class.

Students are finishing an intorduction assignment for Arthur Miller and the 1950s in preparation for the upcoming play "Death of a Salesman".  This is due tomorrow and students have one more class to complete it.  If it is at home is must be here tomorrow.

We will finish viewing the movie version of "Of Mice and Men" tomorrow- Students should be completing their comments on the book being turned into a movie by the end of class tomorrow.   Also, the essay on "To a Mouse"  is to be handed in typed in MLA format for Thursday, September 30. Read over the project list and be prepared to work on a topic of your choice for the final novel project.

Students have completed a final draft of their persuasive essay and had them assessed by a peer today in class.   The final copy should be completed for Thursday, September 30.  Don't forget to refer to the rubric.  There will be a quiz on the essay terms that you have studied over the past week - be prepared!!!

Students are working on a character analysis which is due Wednesday, April 28.  They will have had it assessed twice before going home today.  Tonight should be spent writing the final copy in proper format.  Good Luck. As well, students should have vocabulary and character lists up to date.

Students are working on a research essay as a concluding project for the past two units.  This includes research and use of in-text citations done properly.  These will be due the end of the week. Lab time will be provided; however, students should be working at home as well.
