Eng 112 - today your "expository sandwich" paragraphs were handed in and we explored the finer points of expository writing. In class we did some prewriting on potential expository topics. Tonight you are to write 150-250 words describing a process of how to do something. Pick something you're knowledgeable about: (changing a flat tire, cooking a favorite meal, surviving a zombie apocolypse, clearing a level on a video game, taking a slapshot etc..) and write it out like the example explained in class today. Remember, make the intro interesting, the focus should be clear, transition words should carry us from step to step and the conclusion should shake hands with the introduction. This is to be passed in TOMORROW in good copy form, without exception or excuse Eng 111 - Read the attached story, Bradbury's "A Sound of Thunder" and answer the following questions (although these questions, are not high on the level of critical thought, your answers should be! 1.      “Every hunter that ever lived would envy us today.  This makes Africa seem like Illinois.” (p.4)  What do you think is meant by this statement? 2.      Explain the following quotation:  “Step on a mouse and you leave your print, like a Grand Canyon, across Eternity.” (p.6) 3.      “The rifle in his hands seemed a cap gun.” (p.11)  Describe how Eckels was feeling in this moment. 4.      “…can’t we take it back, can’t we make it alive again?  Can’t we start over?  Can’t we—“ (p.18)  Do you think that they could use the time machine to make the present “right” again? 5.      Why do you think the story is called “A Sound of Thunder”?
