On the last week of September the Tommie’s bays baseball team entered their zones tournament on Friday September 29th. They opened the tournament with a 12pm game at ironmen against Tracadie. Evan Savoy got the start on the mound he would go on to last 5 innings then brother Ryan would take the mound for the 6th just before the boys would 10 run rule mercy rule Tracadie 14-4. After a 2 hour break the boys would find themselves back on the field but now they had to face ESN. Logan Walsh would get the start and he would go on to throw 7 complete innings. The Tommies had to play one more game against their cross river rivals MVHS. Everybody wanted to see this game on Saturday with Jayden getting the start on the hill in the bottom of the 2nd the Tommies open up the scoring with a RBI single in the top of the third mv would answer back quickly with 2 runs to take the lead. It would take the Tommies a couple of innings to try and tie the game up at 2-2 but once again MVHS would be quick to answer back with one run making it a 3-2 game and despite the effort that the Tommies did in the last inning wasn’t enough to beat MVHS. JMH would have to settle for 2nd place and would have to face the top seed team at regionals at memorial field in Newcastle.
