Holland College High School Golf Challenge

Holland College offers a two year GOLF CLUB MANAGEMENT and a one year PROFESSIONAL GOLF MANAGEMENT program. Our two year Golf Club Management program has been in existence for fifteen years, meeting the needs of the Canadian golf industry. Our third year program, entering its twelfth year, is geared towards those students who have aspirations of becoming a golf professional and are interested in advanced courses. Students must successfully complete the Golf Club Management program before applying for the third year program, both of which are endorsed by the CPGA. The Professional Golf Management students spend the first six weeks of the program at the CANADIAN GOLF ACADEMY working on their golf skills. During this time they are trained and educated on the importance of golf psychology, nutrition and fitness as well as the opportunity to play in competitive situations, thus improving their skills in hopes of becoming successful with their playability test. An essential component of our curriculum includes a mandatory internship. Students are placed throughout Canada and overseas for a 500 hour on the job training program. Our second year students are involved in a STUDY TOUR which offers them an opportunity to volunteer at a PGA TOUR EVENT in Florida as well as visiting other facilities such as the World Golf Village and Sawgrass. We have ARTICULATION AGREEMENTS with various universities; after graduation from either program, students may transfer to a university that we have agreements with and receive a degree (this program is commonly referred to as a 2 +2). For the competitive golfer, the College supports a strong VARSITY GOLF PROGRAM. Each year we have a 6 round qualifying tournament that identifies our Hurricane Training Team. This team practices at our Canadian Golf facility in Stratford and competes in 9 regional and 2 national events each year (RCGA & CCAA). If you have any questions concerning these programs please call (902)894-6823 or email pmurnaghan@hollandcollege.com.
