Student Council Fees:
This fee is $30 for each student. The fee includes a Student Identification Card, Student Handbook and Exam Booklets. Fees will be collected by homeroom teachers during the first few days. A receipt will be issued to each student. Students must pay a student fee in order to participate in clubs or sports, and to attend school dances.
Locks are sold to Grade 9 students in homeroom, and in the office for all other students, at a cost of $10.00
Regular attendance is mandatory for all students enrolled in public schools. The school has an Auto-Dialer system which contacts the home in the event that a student has missed one or more classes during the day. Regular contact will be made in the case of student absenteeism. If a student exceeds 12 days in a semester a case conference will be held with the students and his/her parent or guardian to prepare an Attendance Improvement Plan.
James M Hill is a tobacco free environment. Smoking is not permitted on the property. Maps will be posted and available to indicate our “Tobacco Free Zone”.
Please be aware of the traffic pattern. Anyone dropping off/picking up students should enter/exit the new entrance into the parking lot and are not to use the bus lanes in front of the school. Parents waiting for students are asked to park in a space in the lot, rather than blocking traffic by stopping in the driving lanes.
Meet and Greet:
A meet and greet will be held in mid-September. Please watch the JMH website for more information. This is an opportunity to meet your child’s teachers and be informed of expectations. PSSC elections will be held at this time.
We look forward to student, parent and community support for a successful year
for all students attending James M. Hill!
