Mr. Lloyd Cameron

Posted: October 16, 2017

There was a great hole created in the community of Miramichi on Wednesday, October 5th, 2017. A one of a kind man, Lloyd Cameron, a former teacher, mentor, volunteer, and respected individual tragically passed away unexpectedly at the age of 67.

Cameron’s outstanding teaching skills and personality touched many students. He taught students all the way from Alberta, to back to his hometown of Miramichi. His teaching skills made impacts on students that they would remember forever. Mr. Cameron did not only teach students valuable lessons before his teaching retirement, but he continued teaching students after his retirement as well. Former student of Mr. Cameron Michael Mazerolle explained “Lloyd Cameron taught me English and Drama. More importantly he taught me about life.” He always made a special impression on every person he met, whether it was a stranger on the street, or a good friend.

Cameron frequently participated in many organizations such as; St. Andrew's United Church, Miramichi Highland Society, M.A.R.T.A, the Liberal Party, the W.S. Loggie Cultural Centre, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Tall Ships Committee. Mr Cameron will truly be missed by his family, friends, students, coworkers and all the people on the Miramichi River. Mr Cameron wasn’t only well known by generations that he grew up with, but he was also well known by generations upon generations of people that he acquainted himself with every single day. He was one of the most known people in the small city of Miramichi, and will continue to make an impression, and inspire people to live their lives the fullest.
