This past Saturday, the 22nd, the JMH Tommie’s made history. The boys got the first win in JMH football history. Also, they won the very first River Bowl! At the end of the first quarter the boys were tied with the Pulamoo 6-6, after the Pulamoo missed their field goal kick and the boys failed to manage to run the ball into the end zone for the extra points, but the score didn’t stay tied for long. The Tommie’s fought long and hard the entire game and it showed on the scoreboard. The final score for the first ever River bowl was a one sided score of 40-13! For MVHS Cole Trepanier scored their two touchdowns as for JMH Jared MacDonald scored 3 touchdowns and Trenton Somers scored one as well. Despite the rain Miramichi Online still reported that there were hundreds of fans there to cheer both teams on. Whoever won the River bowl would be advancing to playoffs and the losing teams season was done. So with that being said, the Tommie’s will now be advancing to playoffs to play against the undefeated Oromucto Blues. Good luck away this weekend Tommie’s!
