Tommie’s Baseball Team Wins Provincial Title

At the page field in Riverview on October 12 the JMH Tommie’s baseball team defeated the St. Malachy’s Saints of St. John 10-4 in the provincial championship game.The James M. Hill boy’s baseball team has won the provincial championship the last three years and went undefeated this season with a record of 8-0. Pitcher Joey Martin threw a complete game and struck out seven batters to capture the win over the Saints. It was a scoreless game until the fourth inning when J.P. Mclean broke it open with a two run double into right field. Cody Dickson and Tyler Mckay also hit two run doubles to put the game out of reach for the ST. Malachy’s saints, Pat Losier and A.J Gosse each hit singles.For St. Malachy’s, Nick Lavigne hit two singles and Malachy McDonough hit a double and a single to lead his team.During the first game of the tournament Tanner Henry pitched a complete game four hitter for the Tommie’s to get the win over the Leo Hayes Lions of Fredericton 2-0.Credit goes out to the coaches of the James M.
