TOMMIE BASEBALL BEGINS

The leaves are falling and that means one thing. Tommie baseball is back on the river as your James M. Hill Tommies begin their quest for provincials as they open their zone tournament tonight against our cross river rivals MVHS. They will be playing at 6:00 at Cardinal Park. This year’s team will be mix of talented, experienced seniors returning like Alex Preston, Matt Carroll and Andrew Lanteigne to name a few. Also coming up is fresh talent from grade 9 and 10 like Logan Walsh, Sean Cummings among other young guns on this year’s Tommies squad. This year’s team will be coached once again by our very own Mr. Bowes, Mr. Hardy and a new addition to the coaching staff, Tyler McKay. They play again on Friday night, same time and place against EME. The Tommies are looking to win it all after last year’s heartbreaking loss to Mathieu-Martin at regionals and aiming to start off strong against our foes from across the river. I asked senior player Colton McKay his thoughts on the game, and he said, “I really enjoy playing against MVHS in baseball. Most of the guys over there are guys I played with before, so it’s an intense game”.  Get out there and support your Tommies!
