The Tommies prepared to go to war against reigning champs, St Stephen. Like always this was a full week of practice, and learning new defense plays as well as switching most of the Offense line, with Evan Stevens and Tanner Doyle alternating center, as well as Tanner going fullback. Jared Macdonald also played defense. This week, the Tommies get ready to go against Harbor View, this will make or break their play-off games. So hard work and determination will hopefully put them through.

This upcoming weekend on the river, the James M Hill Tommie’s host the Harbour View Vikings. This is a must win game to keep the playoff chance alive for the Tommie’s as they fell last week to the St. Stephens Spartans in a 49-0 game. It was a hard fought game as the Tommie’s held off the Spartans to no points in the first 12 minute of play. The Spartans then busted open the score with 3 touch downs in the second quarter making it a 21-0 game after 24 minutes of play.

The James M Hill boy’s football team traveled to Simmonds High last weekend to take on the Seabees in a David vs goliath match up for the upper hand on making playoffs. The boys started out strong, after letting just one touch down our tommie’s answered back right away with a huge touch down by Jared Macdonald in the end of the first quarter. Simmonds then rallied back putting up another touchdown in the second quarter making it a 14-6 game after the first half. The second half started off very strong for both teams.

What makes James M Hill the best high school in Miramichi…? Originality. And recently we have been challenged by our rivals across the river, Miramichi Valley High School. On Wednesday October 11 2017, there was a feeling of pain throughout the school as we discovered our ideas had been stolen. Wellness Wednesday which was our glorious brain child here at JMH was ripped off by our counterpart. Many students the following day went to school aghast and confused on how our rivals were able to so effortlessly take our ideas.
