English 112 ~ Hi!  Today we had about 15-20 minutes of silent reading.  We are beginning the Edgar Allan Poe portion of our Short Fiction unit, so fittingly we discussed a time when we truly felt afraid and whether that fear was real or imagined.  No homework!   English 113 ~ Hi!  Today we read silently for about 15 minutes.  Continuing with our Short Fiction unit we discussed making inferences and how to make judgements based on prior knowledge.  Remember to "read between the lines".  Dr. Seuss, an author of children's literature, even appeals to an older audience when we read a little deeper.  For homework complete the chart for "Yertle the Turtle".
