UNDER THE LIGHTS
It may be an off day for students, but not for your Tommies football team. The football team will be on the road Friday night, October 7th, taking on Oromocto at L. Washburn. This marks the fourth game of the year for the Tommies a first game playing outside of Miramichi. They will be playing against the division leaders so it may be a tough matchup, but the Tommies will be putting up a good fight with a hard hitting defense that takes no prisoners and an offense with speed and skill. So, they will be going full out for practice looking improve their skills on the field. It will be like a TV style game, playing in the Friday night lights. There’s just something about playing football, or baseball or any sport really, under the lights, the crowd cheering fanatically, that makes it more exciting, and one of the reasons it’s worth playing. I asked Defensive lineman, Kyren Carter what it’s like playing for the first ever JMH football team. “Its nerve wracking considering were the first team ever, games are always packed with people watching and you’re always nervous about messing up. But at the same time, the boys all get along great and we’re all having a blast just doing what we love, playing football.” Show them what we got Tommies!
