UNDEFEATED! The James M. Hill boy’s varsity basketball team capped off their regular season play at home, Tuesday, February 5th
with a solid win over their cross-river rivals, the Miramichi Valley
High Pulamoo. A strong performance by the five graduating players was
certainly a factor as the boys doubled their opponent by a score of
85-41.
Before a packed gymnasium during the alumni appreciation evening,
Nolan Levy and Nick Leggatt combined their talent, netting 50 of the
Tommies 85 points. When asked how he felt about his last home game, Levy
confidently stated, “We’ve beat some really tough teams this year and
have had a great all around season, only losing two games all year. But
this is by no means our last home game. We have a tough game ahead of us
in front of the school on Friday.”
The boys ranked 1st in the northern conference and 5th
in the league as co-captain Levy pointed out the true challenge will
come during the post-season where they will come across stiffer Regional
competition. They will face-off Friday afternoon against the Riverview
Royals with tip-off being at 1 p.m. on home turf.
