Law 120: Law students discuss the Ashley Smith Case. After watching Behind the wall the students learn that there was a trial held to determine the result of the Ashley Smith case. The verdict was homicide. The result caused Smith's parents to file a civil lawsuit seeking 11 million dollars. Students will complete a one page write up answering the following questions: Summarize the Ashley Smith case (who/what/why/when/where/How) Discuss the civil lawsuit and trial (outcome) Were her rights violated? What rights do inmates have? What suggestions do you have for the Penal system, to avoid this from happening again. History 113: The students have just watched the French Revolution video- students highlighted 20 top facts throughout the video. Reading Tutor: Students will complete their demonstrative speeches. Ancient History: The great debate paper components: Thesis statement- opening statement that tells us what the paper is about. Paragraph 2-3- Explain the evolution argument (Charles Darwin, natural selection, origin of man) Paragraph 4-5- Creation argument (The bible, God and origin of man)] Choose which makes most sense to you and try to offer proof through reason and deduction. (the bulk of your paper) If you choose evolution- look up ideas from Richard Dawkins, if you choose Creation- look up Ken Ham) Conclusion
