The grade 12 variety show will be next Thursday, May 20th in the James M. Hill theatre. The show begins at 7:30 and tickets will cost five dollars. The event will be the final variety show of this school year, so students are encouraged to come out and show their support.
There will be a great variety of talent on display from our very own grade 12 students here at James M. Hill, and we would like to see as many students as possible come out; all proceeds will be going towards this year’s Safe Grad.
James M. Hill was very well presented at Drama Fest this past weekend. The students performed two productions: "The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree", directed by Mr. Gopee, "The Whole Shebang", directed by Michael Tucker. The group brought home 14 awards.
For the Lady Pirates of Captain Bree:
Outstanding Actor: Kelsey Hines and Colton Curtis
Outstanding Supporting Actor: Brittany Barry, Jenna Henderson, Chris Knowles and Coralie Curtis.
Outstanding use of set.
Outstanding Teacher Director: David Gopee
Stage Manager's Special Award: Shane Rogers.
For The Whole Shebang
The iced tea house was a great success last night at James M. Hill. For those who aren’t familiar with our usual coffee houses, it’s a time when students get a chance to show their musical talents in front of a small audience. This one had a slight twist however, instead of serving coffee; they served iced tea during the intermission.
There was a great turn out from students and staff last night; we were able to raise $284.57 for this year’s prom!
Vaccinations will be given to Grade 12 and Grade 9 students on Monday, April 26th. Forms were given out over the past two weeks and everybody who has consent will be called by class to receive their needle. These vaccines are to prevent serious diseases.
The grade 9 students will be vaccinated against Invasive Meningococcal Disease. This disease can cause meningitis and septicemia. The grade 12 students will be inoculated against Measles, Mumps, and Rubella.
Girls spring league basketball begins tomorrow night (Wednesday April 21). Any girls interested in playing and have not picked up a form can do so today from Mrs. Tucker.
The girls rugby team are reminded to bring in their activity fee asap. They are also reminded to bring in their fundraising money by Thursday.
The gym will be open all week in the mornings before school starts for anyone who would like to come out and do some walking.
