The JMH boys hockey team lost 7-1 to BHS at the LBA last evening.Alex Robichaud provided the offense for the Tommies. Trevor Scott and Jamie Sherrard lead the way for the Phantoms netting two goals each, while singles came from Kurt Sherrard, Leif Cronk, and Chad Lavigne. Troy Robichaud picked up the win in goal, while Ransen Harris took the loss.Period scores were 1-1 after the first, 4-1 after two, and 7-1 final.With the loss the Tommies season record fell to 7-11-1.The boys will begin their playoffs next week against either Bathurst or Caraquet.

The JMH boys hockey team lost 6-4 to first place ESN in a hard fought hockey game at the LBA last evening.Dylan O'Reilly, Shane Dinan, Jesse Sippley, and Devon McKenzie provided the offense for the Tommies. Tyler McKay suffered the loss in goal.With the loss the Tommies season record fell to 7-10-1.The boys will next see action Thursday evening Feb. 11 when they host BHS in their final regular season game. Game time is at 7:15pm and we encourage all students and staff to come out to WARTCH!
The third annual District 16 Creative Use of Technology in Education (CUTE) Awards are quickly approaching. The event is scheduled for February 17th at the James M. Hill High School Auditorium Awards are presented for digital videos, stop motion animations, audio recordings, photography and other creative and innovative things that happen in our schools.

The Bruce Pettipas Agricultural Scholarship is offering an award of $500 to a Maritime provinces student who is entering the first year of a recognized Maritime university, college or agricultural institution, with preference given to those entering an agricultural or animal science degree program.
The deadline to apply is May 1st, 2010. Applications are available in the Guidance Centre.
The JMH boys hockey team defeated the Blackville Golden Eagles 6-2 on Thursday evening at the LBA. Once again Dylan O'Reilly paced the Tommie attack with two goals, while Devon McKenzie, Jesse Sippley, Colin English, and Jordan Lloyd chipped in with singles. Alex Colford netted a pair for the Golden Eagles. Tyler McKay picked up the win in goal for JMH and played another strong game. The win improved the Tommies season record to 7-8-1. The boys will next see action Saturday evening Jan 30th when they travel to Dalhousie for a game against DRHS at 8:00pm.
The JMH boys hockey team defeated the DRHS Condors 9-5 on Friday evening at the LBA.
Dylan O'Reilly and Mason Gammon paced the Tommies with two goals each while singles came from Devon McKenzie, Jared Shannahan, Shane Dinan, Alex Robichaud, and Colin English. Troy Narvie sniped a hat trick and Tyler LaBillois added a pair for the Condors.
A huge thanks to all those who donated medical supplies and money for our JMH Helps Haiti fundraiser. Last week, students, parents and staff raised over $900 (which will be matched by the federal government) and collected more than 350 first aid items to help Haitian earthquake survivors. All items and money will be donated to ORA International (Orphans and Refugee Aid).
