As the first semester of the school year draws to a close, with only two weeks remaining, it's coming time to kick things off with a little celebration. On Thursday December 13, from 8:00pm to 11:00pm, the school will be hosting its annual Christmas Formal. From what I've seen, students have been flying around getting things organized and asking for dates.
This week the JV boys’ basketball team hada game on Thursday November 6, at 6 o’clock. They will be playing Blackville. However, they play them next week as well on Wednesday, November 12 and the Sackville team in Bathurst. Players are also reminder to please attend all practices if you won’t be there please contact a coach or another player. If you are sick you are still asked to come to practice incase anything new is learned. You don’t need to play, you can just watch the practice.
The girls varsity Basketball team travelled to Salisbury the weekend of December 1st for the annual kickoff tournament hosted by JMA. The girls started the weekend off strong by raking in two wins on Friday, they defeated Amherst and the host team JMA! The girls continued their winning streak the following day by beating the Carleton North Stars in the first game of the second day.
The girls hockey team took on Shippagan on Wednesday, December 5th. They took a hard 12-0 loss but their goalie, Paula, stood on her head the whole game and tried her hardest. The girls will be playing the same team on Friday in Lameque. Hopefully the girls come out with a better result as they were hoping for, make sure to wish your Tommies good luck!
It’s that time of year again Tommies!! JMH’s Annual Christmas formal is coming up. The theme this year will be “Hometown Formal” so make sure you represent Miramichi well when you come. The formal will take place December 13th, at 8pm, but you have to make sure to get your sign in’s in by December 6th (TODAY)! Don’t forget about our handy dandy dress code!
The Green and Gold Cup is taking place this weekend at the LBA. 7 teams, including James M. Hill, will be competing over the course of four days – Thursday to Sunday. There will be 14 games in total. Millwood will be returning to defend their 2017 title. The prices are as follows: $10 for a student or senior tournament pass, $15 for an adult tournament pass and $7 for a day pass.
