On Friday, September 28th the Tommie community participated in orange shirt day in memory of all children who were sent to residential schools.Guest speaker Donna Augustine came to share her grandfather’s experience with residential schools to help spread awareness.She also taught us about her culture by showing us their sacred medicines and by singing a song.
The cross country team is getting ready for another year at regionals. Madame Plourde and Mrs. Underhill the two coaches of the James m hill cross country team are doing everything they can to train the team for the upcoming event taking place on Saturday October 13th in Bathurst. Grades 9s and 10s run 4 kilometers and grades 11s and 12s run 6 kilometers.
We now need nominations for our student and athlete of January. Give some thought about that student or athlete who did something great, was a great leader or just a hard worker. The individual you are nominating doesn't have to be the top athlete or student in your class, but someone who has made a difference during the specific month they are being nominated for.
Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Basketball Team for brining home the banner from the tournament help at Sugarloaf High. Keep up the great work Tommies!
Reminder that Formal tickets will be sold Monday to Thursday at the second half of lunch. They sell for $10 and $1 extra allows you to receive a Polaroid picture the night of Formal to take home.
