English112  ~ Great job creating questions for the short story "The Lottery" using Bloom's Taxonomy.  Now it's time to answer those questions.  Also, don't forget about the quiz tomorrow on the vocabulary from "The Lottery".   English 113 ~ Today we started working on our projects for the novel The Contender.  Tomorrow will be a computer day as well as you won't be here on Friday.

If you haven't handed yours in yet be sure to get it in tomorrow.  We will be in the computer lab tomorrow to get started on your projects.  Make sure you know which project you will be completing before you come to class to make the best of the time provided.   English 113 ~ Your good copies of your writing challange are due tomorrow.

English 112 ~ Let the drafting begin!  Tomorrow we will in the computer lab to get started on the next step of your compare/contrast essays.  If you need to continuing drafting tomorrow that is fine.  Final copies and Ven diagrams are due Monday, 18th.   English 113 ~ Hellen Keller was such an amazing woman and is still very inpirational.  Continuing working on the questions for "Three Days to See".  Quiz on Thursday.

English 112 ~ So what did you think of the ending?  Pretty eerie, eh?  Don't forget you are responsible for the completion of the Comprehension questions and the vocabulary for "The Cask of Amontillado".   English 113 ~ We continued with some grammar today.  Review the four kinds of sentences and complete Practice Two for homework.    Have a great weekend all "my lovelies"

English 112 ~ Me again!  We are continuing with Edgar Allan Poe.  Unfortunately our time was cut short and we didn't get a chance to finish reading "The Cask of Amontillado".  Don't fret, we'll continue tomorrow, and remember if you can't stand the suspense go ahead and read it on your own!   English 113 ~ So are you all tested out?  Today we completed a test for the historical fiction "Salem Village, Mass." and a test to help me determine appropriate reading material for each of you.  No homework for tomorrow, but if you were absent be prepared to write those tests tomorrow.

English 112 ~ We are continuing with Edgar Allan Poe's "The Tell-tale Heart".  Complete the handout on Themes and Figures of Speech for tomorrow.   English 113 ~  We reviewed sentences and sentence fragments today.  For tomorrow complete the handout Practice One and Two.  Remember you have a test on the historical fiction "Salem Village, Mass." tomorrow.

English 112 Hello!  We learned about the life of Edgar Allan Poe and what events lead him to believe he was cursed.  For homework complete the questions for the A & E Biography of E.A.P.   English 113 Hello!  Today we discussed different examples of historical fictions.  We read the historical fiction "Salem Village Massachusetts".  Complete the questions that follow for homework.

English 112 ~ Hi!  Today we had about 15-20 minutes of silent reading.  We are beginning the Edgar Allan Poe portion of our Short Fiction unit, so fittingly we discussed a time when we truly felt afraid and whether that fear was real or imagined.  No homework!   English 113 ~ Hi!  Today we read silently for about 15 minutes.  Continuing with our Short Fiction unit we discussed making inferences and how to make judgements based on prior knowledge.  Remember to "read between the lines".  Dr. Seuss, an author of children's literature, even appeals to an older audience when we read a little deeper.  For homework complete the chart for "Yertle the Turtle".

English 112 ~  We had a lab day to work on the final copies of your newspaper article for the short story "Twins".  Due tomorrow.   English 113 ~  We had the opportunity to see things from a much younger perspective today (Innocent eye) while reading Sarah Salway's short story "Quiet Hour".  Complete the 8 questions and the plot diagram for tomorrow.

English 112 ~ Continuing with the short story "Twins" you are to write a newspaper article on the discovery of the body of Mr. Harry Coates.  Your drafts are due on Monday and final copies on Tuesday.  Have a great weekend all my "little lovelies".   English 113 ~  We continued working on the short story "After Twenty Years". As a group we revisited the story and completed a plot diagram.  Enjoy your homework-free weekend!
