So with all the segments and video announcements for the week of October 9th – 12th wrapped up, this is a summary of everything that went on in the segments.
-On Tuesday, for Joke of the week, Kevin Brawn told us all the reason why actors are always told to break a leg.
For the past several years our Interact group has been taking part in Trick or Eat. Trick or Eat is when Interact members go door to door collecting foodbank appropriate items such as cannedgoods and other non parishable items, every item donated will be sent to the foodbank, its an incriedble way to give back to the community, all items donated will be greatly appreciated!
The girls field hockey team travelled to Moncton on Tuesday to take on Bernice MacNaughton High School. They were down 1-0 then Karlie Houck scored a goal to tie up the game. A few minutes later, Bernice Macnaughton scored again putting them in the league 2-1. At the beginning of the second half Bernice Macnaughton scored again making it 3-1. Halfway through the second half, Sydney Martin scored. The girls lost 3-2 but they played great game. The girls will be playing again on Saturday at the turf against Harrison Trimble at 11AM and Riverview at 1PM, come out and cheer them on!
Picture Day was held yesterday at James M. Hill in the Child Care Lab. Students were called down by their period 1 class to get their pictures taken. They were each handed a white slip that they would have to give to the photographer in order to get their picture taken. Any student who had not previously passed in their Media Release form did not receive a white slip and thus was unable to get their picture taken.
Throughout the week there will be presentations from various universities and colleges. For any Grade 12 students interested, there is sign-up sheets in Guidance.
The James M Hill Boys soccer team traveled to Moncton this past weekend for their first tournament of their season. During the tournament they lost to École L'odyssée (Moncton) with a score of 4-1, they lost to Moncton high with a score of 7-0 and finally they tied Cité Des Jeunes (Edmundston) with a score of 1-1 “we lost all our games but we got better as the weekend went on”(Hiew Mersereau Grade 12).
On Monday October 1, 2018 we celebrate Blue shirt day every year since 2009. We wear the blue shirts to stop bullying and show support to those who get bullied because of who they are, look like, religion, sexuality, and etc… The stomp out program has helped over 5 million resolve bullying and cyberbullying situations. They also assisted 100,000 students and saving 2,000 lives because of the STOMP OUT bullying helpChat online. Kids are bullied all over the world and we try to help them with the blue shirt.
