Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a NSNBR Heritage Foundation Educational Bursary, you must be a serving, former or retired member of the Regiment or their spouse, child, grandchild, great-grandchild or a member of a NSNBR Cadet Corps.
Must be registered as a full-time student in a first-year program of a post-secondary school at the time of application.
Must provide an official document from their academic institution confirming that they are accepted for the following academic year and indicating that a diploma or degree is underway.
Must have sponsorship from an educator that knows the applicant at the same school (secondary school), and a reference letter from him/her.
Must include a personal motivational letter outlining your reasons for application, your goals, and relevant background (no more than one page single spaced).
Must provide an up-to-date transcript of their academic records.
Must submit a resume.
Presentation
Presentation and/or announcement of a bursary is usually awarded at the recipient’s high school graduation ceremony. Payment will be presented to the recipient once they have received confirmation of enrollment for their second semester of post-secondary education.
Selection Committee
All applications will come straight to the Foundation; a Selection Committee will choose the final recipient.

The NBTA Credit Union presents a minimum of six education awards of $2000 each, annually. These awards are available to students whose parents and/or grandparents are member-owners of the NBTA Credit Union as well as to any member-owner of the NBTA Credit Union. The awards are non-renewable but may be re-applied for each year. The awards are contingent on actual full-time enrolment in a post-secondary institution.
The deadline for applications (including transcripts and acceptance letters) to reach the NBTA Credit Union is April 25, 2025.

The successful candidates will be notified in time for announcements to be made at the graduation ceremonies in June. Applications may be obtained online or from the office of NBTA Credit Union.
ELIGIBILITY
1. Applicants must be member-owners for at least one year; or applicants must have a parent/guardian or grandparent who has been a member-owner for at least one year.
2. All scholarship applications must be accompanied by the following:
• Name(s) of parent/guardian or grandparent who is a member-owner at NBTA Credit Union, if you are not a member-owner.
• An acceptance letter if you are not already in University/College.
• An official signed transcript from High school, University, or College.
• 2 signed letters of reference (you may include teachers, clergy, employers, Credit Union managers or other professionals; you may not include family members or classmates.)
QUALIFICATIONS
The criteria for the awards are listed below and are weighted equally:
(a) Academic achievement
(b) Co-operative community service (volunteer work)
(c) Financial need
(d) Success in spite of extraordinary circumstances

Joyce Family Foundation Access Bursaries 2025-26
Through the generosity of Ronald V. Joyce, the University of New Brunswick has established the Joyce Family Foundation Access Bursaries. The Joyce Foundation is proud to annually fund high school entrance bursaries valued at $20,000 ($5,000 renewable per year for up to 4 years). This support will assist young Atlantic Canadians (preference to New Brunswick residents) achieve their academic goals.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Tuesday, April 15th, 2025
Bursary Criteria:
- Preference given to residents of New Brunswick, and then Atlantic Canada.
- Must have graduated from a secondary high school within the last 12 months.
- Bursaries awarded based on financial need and personal circumstances.
- Students must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program of study at UNB.
- Recipient must commit to work with at least one mentor in an extracurricular activity throughout program.
- Bursaries awarded are to be applied against tuition and fees.
- Renewal is based on maintaining good academic standing (minimum assessment year GPA of 2.0).

The Mary Majka Scholarship Fund was established in 2014 by Nature NB to honour the legacy of one of our founding members, Mary Majka, with the intent to further youth engagement with nature and our natural heritage.
Mary Majka was an environmental pioneer, TV host, wildlife rehabilitator and outdoor educator … a driving force behind New Brunswick’s first conservation organizations. But it was her fervent defence and preservation of cultural heritage, sensitive habitats, and the wild creatures that share our world that most influenced those around her.

The Mary Majka Scholarship Fund is open to New Brunswick students from middle school to those attending an undergraduate program. Awards will be granted on a yearly basis ranging from $250 to $1000, depending on the number of applicants and funds available.
Scholarships will be awarded in three distinct categories:
Applications are accepted annually. The deadline to apply is March 31st of the current calendar year. Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed by our scholarship committee. Decisions will be made and successful applicants will be notified by the end of May.
Please complete the application form and submit it with all supporting documentation, either by email or postal mail.
Applications must be received by Nature NB by 5:00 PM March 31st.

About the Robbie and Jean Shaw Scholarship
The Robbie and Jean Shaw Scholarship Fund was created by a group of dedicated donors interested in paying tribute to the Shaw family for their long-term commitment to making the world a better place. Specifically, Robbie and Jean love IWK Health, and they believe in the potential and passion of every young person to make a meaningful difference, in part thanks to a solid educational foundation. IWK children and youth have a special place in Robbie and Jean’s hearts because of their long-term professional and volunteer experience with the IWK and the IWK Foundation.
The Award and Application Process
The IWK Foundation invites applications for the Robbie and Jean Shaw Scholarship. This award consists of a scholarship valued at minimum $2,000.
Eligible applicants are current or former IWK patients who have an academic average of 75% or higher and who are entering their first year of post-secondary studies.
Applicants must submit a minimum 500 word essay answering the following question:
How has your experience at the IWK impacted your life and shaped your goals for the future?
Please include the following points in your essay:
• Why the IWK is special to you
• Your community involvement and/or volunteer work
• Your goals for the future • How the scholarship will make a difference for you
In addition, applicants must submit a recent transcript, two personal written letters or notes from references —one from a teacher and one from a representative at the IWK who is familiar with their care journey.

IWK Research & Innovation Advancement (RIA) is proud to offer The Future Health Research and Innovation Scholarship to Maritime students. We are asking that you distribute this information to students graduating in the spring of 2025 and planning on pursuing a post-secondary education.
The Future Health Research and Innovation Scholarship was created in 2015 for the purpose of fostering awareness in health research at the IWK and to recognize outstanding grade 12 students within the Maritimes who have demonstrated an early interest in health-related research and/or innovation.
To be considered for The Future Health Research and Innovation Scholarship, grade 12 students must intend on continuing their education at a Maritime post-secondary institution (college or university) in a field that will enhance health research or innovation. The student must include a cover letter, essay, letters of recommendation, and transcripts. The cover letter should explain why they are interested in a particular area of health research and/or innovation and how their post-secondary education will help them pursue their research goals. The essay must be written using scientific evidence to explain the specific area of health research and/or innovation they would like to pursue and how their research and/or innovation could potentially contribute to the health and well-being of children, women and families in the Maritimes. The student must provide one Academic Reference (e.g. a teacher who can speak to their marks and school performance) and one Character Reference (e.g., a coach or boss who can speak to sportsmanship or work ethic). Lastly the student must provide their Grades 11 and 12 (in progress) transcripts, and have a minimum average of 75%.
A maximum of three non-renewable scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded, one in each Maritime province. Applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges consisting of scientists, administrators and members of the public (lay members).
The deadline for applications will be March 1,2025 and notification of the winners will be made in June. Attached in the email are the Scholarship poster and Application form.
