U.N.B. SCHOLARSHIP

VALUE: Announced annually. Average value $1000 / year.
TERM: Four (4) years.
CRITERIA: 1. Applicant must be a Scotsman, Scotswoman, or be of Scottish decent.
2. Applicant must have been accepted for entrance to Arts, Science or Applied Science
Course at the University.
3. Financial need to be taken into consideration in deciding among applicants.
4. If the recipient fails to maintain pass-standing he / she, at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee, may be required to forfeit the Scholarship.
 
THE HIGHLAND SOCIETY OF NEW BRUNSWICK AT MIRAMICHI
JOHN CROSBIE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP & LEN ROBERTSON SCHOLARSHIP
VALUE: $3500.
TERM: One (1) year.
CRITERIA: 1. Must be a member or a son or daughter of a member in good standing of the Highland
Society of New Brunswick at Miramichi.
2. Must be attending a first-year program at a recognized Canadian University.
3. Financial need to be a consideration in deciding among applicants.
4. One-half amount payable in the fall; second half on proof of satisfactory first-term
results.
 
EDUCATIONAL GRANTS
VALUE: $2500
TERM: One (1) year. (Candidates may re-apply annually)
CRITERIA: 1. Relatives of members of Highland Society of N.B. at Miramichi in good standing,
(sons, daughters, grandchildren, nephews, nieces).
2. Must be planning to attend an institution providing post-secondary education.
3. Financial need to be a consideration in deciding among applicants.
All applications for Scholarships or Educational Grants must be accompanied by:
1. Letter of acceptance
2. Transcript of your marks from your school or university
3. Two (2) letters of reference
4. Recent photo suitable for publication

Submit completed applications to the Main Office by May 15th, 2023

Eligibility:

1. Successful graduation from James M. Hill Memorial High School or Miramichi Valley High School

2. A former registered player for the TMBA or Miramichi Hoops

3. Pursuing post-secondary studies

The River Hoops Basketball Association Bursary will be awarded annually to four graduating TMBA and River Hoops basketball players who best demonstrate the positive qualities inherent as an ambassador for the sport of basketball, and for our programs.

Section I: Student Information

  • You must reside in New Brunswick and be a Canadian Citizen

Section II: College/University Information

  • Provide the name and address of the College, Trade School, Technical School, Community College or University you will be attending.
  • Bursaries are awarded to students attending facilities on a full time basis.
  • Post graduate studies do not qualify.
  • $500.00 bursaries are awarded to successful applicants.

  • This section must be completed

NOTE:

  • Bursaries are awarded based on financial need, with special consideration given to children and grandchildren of Veterans.
  • All documentation to be included
  • Ensure that the application is signed in the appropriate places
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered - no follow-up will be taken

Environmental Services Association Maritimes Scholarship Program

 

To Provide a $500 scholarship to three deserving high school graduates intending to pursue a post-secondary education in a science or environmental program. Three scholarships will be awarded, one in each Maritime province.

 

Criteria:

· Applicant must be a resident of the Maritimes.

 

· Applicant must be a graduating high school senior and be accepted to attend a post-secondary institution in the year of award.

 

· Applicant must be furthering their education in a science or environmental field of study.

 

Please include with your application:

 

· Completed Application Form

 

· Proof of Acceptance to a Post-Secondary Institution

 

· Letter of recommendation from a teacher or community member

 

· A 250-500 word essay explaining why you have chosen to pursue an education in the science/environmental field. Please email your submission to: contact@esamaritimes.ca.

 

Deadline for the receipt of applications is June 1, 2023

The Schizophrenia Society of New Brunswick Inc. offers a $500.00 bursary (dedicated to the memory of J. Dean McAllister) to a high school graduate who is entering University or College - preference given to a student enrolled in one of the Social Sciences.

Applications must be received by the Trustees no later than June 1st of each year.

All students or one of his/her parents who are members of Beaubear Credit Union for 12 months preceding the application are eligible for the bursary. Applicants should be careful to answer all questions.

The page on family information is strictly confidential. It should be completed by the parent or guardian, and mailed separately to the above address. This page will be destroyed once the Trustees have made their decision on the recipient of the Scholarship

Purpose: To assist a deserving female student to pursue further studies or training at a recognized post-secondary institution

 Submit to the main office at JMH by May 19th

 Recipient will be selected by: Nancy Lordon Memorial Scholarship Committee

 Eligibility:

·        Must demonstrate leadership skills

·        Successful graduation from James M. Hill

·        Minimum of two years at this high school

·        Applicant must have applied to a post-secondary institution

Based on need, marks, and participation in school and community

Eligibility:  $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student graduating from James M. Hill Memorial High School who will be entering trade or a trade apprenticeship program.

Criteria:  Community and School Involvement.

Presentation:  The award will be presented by a member of the Scott Bowes family.  Written confirmation from the post-secondary institution must be provided.

Selection of Scholarship:  A committee comprising of the Scott Bowes family will review all applications. What do you know about Scott?

Application Deadline:  May 20th of each year.

To assist with post secondary education for up to four needy and/or deserving students who reside in the area of the former Village of Loggieville, NB.

  • Open to graduates of JMH residing in the Hardwicke, Baie Ste. Anne and Escuminac Area
  • Pursuing post-secondary education at least one year in duration
  • primary consideration given to financial need
  • secondary consideration given to academic achievement 
Drop off at the Pharmacy or mail in an envelope with "Baie Guardian Pharmacie Bursary" on the front. Due by May 15th
