Hello my Lovelies!

I've attached a copy of your Daily Journals.  I know it's not your own individual journal, but most of you had been enjoying the time you were given to spend working on them each day.  If you can't print out a copy of the attached journal, you can at least gather some ideas to keep the routine of spending some time with yourselves daily.

Enjoy!

Mindfulness 120

HEY!!! I hope you all had a happy Easter! It’s great to see the sun shining this morning.  Try and get out and enjoy some outdoor activities.  Awaken your senses!

Please, if you haven’t already, e-mail me from your preferred e-mail to say “Hi”, you can add a brief message letting me know how you have been spending your time.  I really do miss all of your faces!  My e-mail is: cheris.young@nbed.nb.ca

This week we will continue with our Learning to Breath text.  We are now on the first letter E of BREATHE.  Just to recap:

BREATHE –

  • listen to your Body
  • Reflections (thoughts) are just thoughts
  • surf the waves of your Emotions
  • Attend to the inside and the outside
  • try Tenderness – take it as it is
  • practice healthy Habits of mind
  • gain the inner edge and be Empowered

So this week we will be focusing on our emotions.  Similar to what we were doing in class, read through the slides of the attached PowerPoint and use the worksheet “Letter E” to fill in the missing information.

If you have any questions, please send me an e-mail.

Have a great week!

And remember…

Mrs. Young’s English

Good morning, Tommies!

Hope you all had a happy Easter.

Let’s start with a few items from last week.

Below are a few directions for all of my students to help us get started in this new (to all of us) way of learning.

 A)  If you have forgotten your student email and/or password you can get a reset by texting your Full Name, School, and Grade to:  1-506-210-0127

B)   Email!  Please send me an email from your preferred email address so that I have a way to stay connected with you.  My e-mail is: cheris.young@nbed.nb.ca

C)   Starting today, APRIL 6th, I'll be calling all students in my homeroom class, along with a few others.  If you are not in my first period class but would like me to call you to answer any questions about your English or Mindfulness class, please include your preferred contact number in the email you send me.  (I’d love to hear all of your voices)

 D)   Starting today, APRIL 6th, I'll be posting on this site, to get you started on some 'home learning'.  Please check this site on a weekly basis for updates. J

English (Periods 1,2 &4)

Reading ~ This week I would like you to continue reading simply for enjoyment. This can be a novel, short story, blog, news article, magazine articles, etc.  Your Choice!

Assignment~ Please read the article that I have attached.  Like most people, over the past few weeks I have been following the Covid 19 updates.  I have noticed a great difference in the way Canada and our Prime Minister has approached and dealt with this situation as opposed to our neighboring country and its President.  The article is written by an American who has also noticed how Canada does things differently (better) than the United States.  Read the article and respond to the questions that follow.  Send your responses to me by e-mail so I can provide feedback.

If you have any questions send me an e-mail. J

Have a great week!

Unfortunately the email accounts are down and I cannot access my email.  If any of you are working on your assignment and have questions, and if the system does not begin working before tomorrow, I will address your concerns tomorrow in class.  That would mean that I will not take marks off if I see that you were trying to reach me.  Thanks.  Ms. C.
