Attention all students of James M Hill high school, there will be a pep Rally this Friday, December 2nd, 2016. All students and teachers are welcome to come out and show your school spirit, there will be many fun activities and lots of laughs and cheers. Make sure to wear your school colors, (Green and Gold) this day to show off school spirit! Don’t be shy we are all very excited to see you all there!!
This weekend, the boys varsity basketball team will off to Fredericton for a tournament that will go from December 1st to the 4th. They will be going up against St. Maclachy’s, Friday at 6 PM at Leo Hayes. Then they will play 2 games, Saturday at 9 AM against Fredericton Christian at UNB, and at 1PM against Harvey at Leo Hayes. The boys have been ranked 8th in the tournament going in and will have some fierce competition but the boys are up for the challenge.
Starting Tuesday November 29th 2016, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday the Cat shack will be open at lunch to buy clothing. We have received new items. There are also some items available in the office! Go Tommies!!
Hello to all the grade 9-12 students at James M Hill High school, Christmas time is just around the corner and that means that our Christmas Formal will be coming up before we know it! To all the people who haven’t been to a formal before we are hoping to see you all there, it will be a great time for everyone! Formal will be held on December 16th 2016 from 8-11pm. Tickets will be on sale that week at lunch for a price of 10$ each. If you’re interested in attending this year’s formal make sure to get a snazzy outfit ready and come on out to a night you’ll never forget!!
On November 24th, the boys hockey team took on our cross-river rivals, the Miramichi Valley Pulamoo, at the LBA at 7:30. Starting goalie for the Tommies was Colton McKay. The score went back and forth for the first two periods, with Johnathon Russell racking up two goals. However, MV got a advantage over the Tommies by a few goals in the third, but the Tommies fought hard to come back. But they’re just wasn’t enough time left in the game. The boys lost a hard fought battle, with the final score of 6-5 in favor of the Pulamoo.
Last night (November 23rd) your own varsity girls basketball team kicked off their league play with a home opener against Bonar Law Memorial High School. The girls had a triumphant victory winning 99-10. The girls will be traveling to Perth Andover for a tournament this weekend, and on Tuesday will be going to SSHS for another league game. Their next home game will be December 1st so everyone come on out and support your girls!
The Hoop Classic took place over the weekend and that’s the signal of the beginning of a new season for our boys and girls basketball teams. The girls lost their first two games to MVHS and Saint John High but made the last game of the tournament count beating Leo Hayes 57-50. Although losing the first two games, they played hard and competitively against some tough matchups. Player of the game honor went to Alicia Galley.
The boy’s hockey team have two big league games scheduled for this week. On Thursday night at 7:30 the Tommies will face off against rival MVHS Pulamoo at the LBA. Make sure to come out and support! On Friday night the boys will travel to Bathurst to take on the Bathurst High Phantoms for a 7:00 start. These are two important games for the Tommies. After starting the season with a 0-3 record, the boys hope to win these games to get back in the win column.
