The 25th annual Green & Gold Cup wrapped up Sunday afternoon at the LBA and saw Bernice MacNaughton defeated AQV 6-5 in the Finals.
The Tommies had a successful tournament finishing the round robin with 2 wins and a tie, capturing first place in the Green division. However, the boys lost 3-1 to eventual champion Bernice MacNaughton on Sunday morning in the first cross over game.
A special congratulations goes out to Tyler McKay as he was recognized as a Tournament all star for the second straight year for his strong play in goal.
This weekend the James M Hill Tommie's will host the Green and Gold Hockey tournament. This year marks the 25th year that James M Hill has hosted this tournament. Teams from across New Brunswick face off at the Lord Beaverbrook arena for the top prize, the Green and Gold Cup. The teams playing this year are the JMH Tommies, MVHS Pulamoo, Oromocto Blues, Aux Quatres Vents, Harrison Trimble, Tantramar Titans, Moncton High, and Bernice McNaughton.

On Friday, November 27, 2009 torch bearers will be travelling through the Newcastle Business District starting at the intersection of King George Highway and Hennessey Street at 10:36am. It will travel along Pleasant Street, around the Town Square and then back along Pleasant Street to Hennessey Street finishing there at 10:59am.

You are invited to attend the MVHS Career Expo, taking place the evening of November 24th from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at the Miramichi Valley High School gym. Over 40 universities, colleges, and private schools from the Atlantic Provinces will be there with information and to answer any of your questions and concerns.

James M. Hill is hosting a school to school Cultural Exchange with Mexico. Our partner school is Colegio Mexico. This school is located in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico, a port city along the Gulf of Mexico, in the state of Veracruz. You may want to look at the area on the internet. Colegio Mexico students would come to James M. Hill - January 24th to February 6th.
Mrs. Peggy Mitchell and Mr. John Hawkes would accompany and supervise James M. Hill students to Colegio Mexico, February 21st to March 6th.
Starting on Monday, November 16th, students who require the use of a computer to complete projects MAY have the opportunity to use one. You may not apply for the full three-week cycle, only for the time required for your project's completion.
