Biology 112- Students started a new unit on classification. They are to complete their dichotomous key for class tomorrow.
ES 120- Students started a new unit on ecology. Today we discussed species interactions.
Chem 112- Students had time to work on questions on Ionic Compounds. There will be a mini quiz tomorrow April 11th on ionic compounds.

Biology 112- We reviewed notes on Osmosis and students were given notes on facilitated diffusion, active transport, endocytosis, exocytosis. Students were given a cell membrane sheet to complete for tomorrow to review.
ES 120- Students were given notes on sustainability, given a review sheet on population. Tomorrow we will be correcting Population Assignment # 3
Chem 112- Students were told about the exceptions that exist with chromium and copper in the periodic table. They were given time to work on their questions in class and ask questions.

Biology 112- Students completed the Eukaryotic Cell test. Tomorrow we will be starting the Cell Membrane section.
ES 120- Students finished watching the video Population Explosion. They worked on population Assignments 2 and 3. Test will be coming up on Population section.
Chem 112- We started a discussion on atomic model theory and compared Bohr Theory with the Quantum Mechanical Model.

Biology 112
We reviewed what cells need to live and the categories of cells. Students got cell sheets to fill in and they were reviewed. Students got an assignment to review the parts of the cell and the functions.
Students will finish their microscope drawings. Complete cell sheet filling in the parts of the cell.
ES 120
Students reviewed notes on population by filling in the blanks of a note sheet.
They completed a crossword puzzle on the information.
Chem 112
Students were given a review sheet for their test on Thursday, March 1st.
We completed a candy lab to understand atomic mass calculations. The students will continue to work on the lab write up this week.

Students reviewed the scientists credited with creating the cell theory. They learned the parts of the cell theory. They reviewed different types of microscopes. They got a microscope sheet to fill in. There was a matching sheet of parts to fill out on the back of the sheet. On Thursday student wrote a microscope mini quiz. On Friday students worked on the e-lab.

Monday students reviewed for their test. Test was on Thursday and Friday we went to the computer lab to work on ecopoints.
Chem 112
Students reviewed notes on atoms and isotopes. Today we discussed how to calculate the atomic mass of an element. Students have been working on worksheet to review the topics. Worksheets Chapter 4: Atoms and Isotopes due for Monday

Students reviewed worksheets- “How Scientists Work” and “Simpson Scientific Method”

Student’s selected one environmental issue from a list provided in the “Environmental Science Issues” Assignment.
Students were given time in class to create their projects.

Food Additive Assignment- Student were given a food additive to research; Due date: Next Tuesday Feb 20th- But you can pass it in at any time.
