Chemistry 112- We reviewed notes on Metallic Bonding.  Questions p. 199 # 14-22 and p. 203 #23-29 were given to work on.  They are not for homework, but they are good to do.  We will correct them tomorrow.

Science 9- Tomorrow we start our new unit on Space.  We were in the computer lab today working on Genius Hour Projects

Biology 112- Students were given a fill in the blank sheet to learn about Protists.  We will continue working on the sheet tomorrow.  The sheet is not for homework.

Chemistry 112- We started a new unit: Ionic and Mollecular Bonding- students were given a print out of their marks up to date.

Science 9- Reproduction Test was written today- students were given a print out of their marks up to date.

Biology 112- We corrected our bacteria and virus test in class today.  Protist Unit started.  Students will be given an up to date print out of marks in the next couple of days.

Chemistry 112- Students have a test tomorrow in class.  Test is on compounds- ionic, molecular and acid and bases.  If you come across anything you are not sure of tonight, make sure to ask me in the morning before the test.

Science 9- The test has been moved to monday. Needles were given today which called some students out of class, therefore missing the review.  The review will continue tomorrow.

Biology 112- The test will be tomorrow for bacteria will be tomorrow.  A reveiw was done in class today.

Chemistry 112- We worked on a sheet naming acids and bases.  Tomorrow students will get an assignment sheet for molecular compounds and acid and bases.

Science 9- we finished talking about cloning.  Students made DNA braclets.  We will be having a test next week to finish up the Reproduction unit.  Tomorrow students will work on their genius hour projects in class.

Biology 112- We watched a video on Viruses and completed a sheet along with it.

Chemistry 112- Students were given an ionic compound assignment to complete for Monday.  Today we complete a lab using polyvinyl acetate (glue) and borax to make bouncy balls.

Science 9- students wrote a mini quiz on mitosis and cell reproduciton.  The rest of class was spent on their Genius Hour projects.

Biology 112- Students reviewed for their test.  Test is on Monday, Oct 23.

Chemistry 112- Students reviewed ionic compounds (binary ionic, multivalent and polyatomic) today in class with examples.  A sheet was passed out to practice writing the compound names and formulas.  This sheet is not for homework.  We will continue to work on it in class tomorrow.

Science 9-We finished discussing our Genetic Research Projects. Student will have a quiz on Mitosis and Cell reproduction on Friday. We will be reviewing tomorrow in class.

Chemistry 112- Today we started a new unit- Compounds.  Students were given notes today and they should be reviewing these notes to make sure they understand the topic.

Science 9- Today we reviewed some genetic research projects in class.  We will continue with the rest tomorrow.  Student groups were responsible for making a presentation to detail genetic projects given in class.  

Biology 112- Today we continued discussing classification and students were given a dichotomous key to start working on.  It was not for homework so they can continue working on it tomorrow in class.

Chemistry 112-  There is a test tomorrow.  Students should study their notes and review sheet.

Science 9- Students worked on a question sheet about DNA and started a Genetic Research Project.  Tomorrow we will continue and work on our Genius Hour Projects

Biology 112- Students are finishing up tests and we started our new section on Classification.

Chemistry 112- A review sheet was passed out in class.  This is not due for tomorrow.  The test is going to be on Friday.  We will be reviewing for the next few days.

 

Science 9- They started watching a movie on DNA.  We will continue it tomorrow.

 

Biology 112- Test on cell membranes Wednesday. A review sheet was passed out on Friday and was due today for bonus points.

Chemistry 112- Students have questions from the textbook to complete for Tuesday. Questions were given out in class on Thursday and time given today to work on them.  The questions are: Pg 132 1-7, pg 135 8-9, pg 136 10-13.  A test will be coming up next week on these topics.

Science 9- students worked on their genius projects in class.

Biology 112- Students reviewed worksheets, were given notes on mitochondria and chloroplast and started working on a review sheet for cell membranes.  The review sheet is due on Tuesday, when it will be reviewed.  The test is planned for Wednesday.

Chemistry 112-  Today we continued to discuss quantum theory.  Students should look over the notes. We corrected the first half of the ion sheet. We will correct the rest tomorrow.

 

Science 9- We discussed sexual and asexual reproduction. Student started an in class assignment. Mini quiz on Mitosis tomorrow.

 

Biology 112- Student took some notes on cell membranes and diffusion. They were given terms in class to complete for tomorrow.  Extra sheet given is class is not due for homework.

Chemistry 112- Today we took notes on the quantum theory page 130.  Students were given sheets to support the notes on orbitals and electron configuration.  We will continue our discussion Monday on the quantum theory.  

 

Science 9- Students did a mitosis lab today.  If they did not finish in class they are to complete their lab at home.

Biology 112- Students did a test today on the cell.  Tomorrow we will start our discussion about the cell membrane.

Chemistry 112- Student will write a test tomorrow on Matter.  The students were given a review today in class.  Note: there was a mistake on one of the answer sheets.  The most abundant element in the human body is Oxygen, not hydrogen.  Please correct.  I will mention this in class tomorrow too.

Science 9-Students wrote a test today in class on scientists, cells and microscopes.

Biology 112- Students reviewed questions on questions sheets.  Students were given an assignment to complete for marks.
