Digital sound 120- Finish recordings of Ads today. Remember to use persuasive speech and remember that each sound can trigger memory or interest. Choose the appropriate sound for your AD. Recordings will be due on Monday. Law 120- Students are to finish up their fairy tale crimes. This project is due tomorrow. Teacher will review the rubric for grading a presentation. Computer science 110- Students should try to get into visual basic- Unit 7. Students may have some trouble here as the software is a bit different as it is a modern version than what is discussed in the resource. Simple google search to answer any questions. I will start to list things I have notice, that are different... Caption changed to TEXT To get your grid, simply go to Tools... options... Form design... change to snap to grid... then reopen form. Visible errors can be fixed but changing image to PictureBox1

Digital sound 120- Students submitted their ad to the teacher yesterday. Teacher will return ads with some ideas to help improve the recordings. The students will begin recording today. Teacher will discuss with student voice and the purpose of the tone in order to enhance audio recordings. Recordings will be due on Monday. Law 120- Students are to finish up their fairy tale crimes. Today students should be able to connect their crimes with the criminal code and research to find similar crimes and their sentence. Please use Canadian cases. Case law- same crime, same time. Computer science 110- Students should try to get into visual basic- Unit 7. Students may have some trouble here as the software is a bit different as it is a modern version than what is discussed in the resource. Simple google search to answer any questions. Digital sound 120-  Today we are writing our announcements. You may want to youtube and listen to some effective announcements that are similar to your event. Write the announcement, then insert your sound effects, background music and other important elements. Should be submitted by the end of the class. NOTE: the announcement list has your name attached to your project that you are working on. Content- (information presented) Effects used (Enhancing the message- choice of material) Balance of the recording (Balancing the mix between each sound) Quality of sound Law120- A look at the Criminal code of Canada. Students will start their fairy tale crime project. The summary of their story (Fairy tale) The crimes identified- (you need at least 3- I'm hoping you find 5) Actus Rea and Mens Rea- prove the mindset through- knowledge, intent, neglect ect. The section of the criminal code that refers to your crimes. Computer science 120- Students should be at the end of Unit 6 this week. Digital sound 120-  Students are working on their school commercial. Today students will begin to write their commercial. Make sure to include all the important information. The who, what, why, where, when and how. Answering these basic questions should give you all the needed information. You may want to consider sending off an email to teachers who are involved in planning the even to get your information. Remnember to continue to build your resource folder of royalty free effects and music. Teacher will look at your list today. Your commercial writing will be reviewed by the teacher tomorrow. Whether it is commercial or Public service announcement the audio elements are very important. How long should it be? What are the important elements (Information)?  How can we use sound to make this interesting and memorable? Students will then have the task of building a radio announcement, to put on the school radio station or other public radio waves. The teacher will provide a list of events going on at the school. Students may work in pairs to produce their announcement. They will be graded on the following: Content- (information presented) Effects used (Enhancing the message- choice of material) Balance of the recording (Balancing the mix between each sound) Quality of sound By the end of class today- students will create a folder and build a resource of royalty free sound effects, background effects and other audio sources to build their recording. Digital sound- Students will continue to work on their song mash-ups. Students will submit song Mash-ups on Wednesday 10th October, 2012. Students are reminded that all work must be submitted on that Date. Law 120 - Teacher will finish the notes on Criminal Law. Law students will have review for their Quiz #2 on the Charter of rights and Freedoms. Students are to take the period to work on the review. The review will account for some marks. The quiz will include multiple choice questions as well as long answer questions. Review is due on the day of the quiz, which is Wednesday 10th October 2012. Computer science 110- Students will try to complete Unit 5 by Friday Next week.

Digital sound- Students will continue to work on their song mash-ups. Students will submit song Mash-ups on Wednesday 10th, 2012. Law 120- Students will begin their study on crime. Students will then discuss with teacher the elements of a crime and what areas a person would be found guilty. The students will then look at the criminal code of Canada. Use http://www.video2mp3.net/  to download your song.  Click on Clip > Split to split your track Use the Move/Copy Clip   tool to move the pieces of your song. Add a minimum of 5 effects to the files in your project. Or try to do a song mash-up Period #3-4-LAW 120- students will finish their study on the human rights act in Canada. Period #2- Look at the 5 minute mystery. Teacher will do a quick tutorial on audacity with students. Students should print out their 5 minute mystery and submit a working hardcopy with brainstorming ideas to teacher. You will choose one of the following or a reading of your choice and look for sound effects to enhance the "picture" of the text. The you will record the reading and sound effects to build a "picture" for the listener. When completed please title it as Assignment #4 with your name.
