Chemistry 112 Periods 1 & 3

Physical Science Period 4

Physics 112

A guide as to what definitions, explanations and practice questions go with each of the learning targets for molecular bonding.

Posted: November 11, 2018

  • Continue working through questions related to Newton's Laws.
  • There will be a quiz Thursday, November 15.  For the quiz be familiar with inertial and non-inertial frames of reference and examples of each. Review the laws and know examples of when each law is being applied in a situation.  There will be one problem to solve with the 2nd law and one problem that relates to kinematics and dynamics.
  • Friday is more review of Newton's Laws and on Monday the hope is to get to problems about connected masses.

Science 10: Balancing Equations Simulation

Chapter 7 Review

  • There will be a test Wednesday November 14th.  Those tests will be returned the next day to review for Monday's re-test (Novemeber 19th).  The test will break down in to three learning targets based on chapter 7:
  • Learning Target 1: Define and explain the formation of ionic and metallic compounds.  Practice questions to help review: Pages 207 - 209 #s 30-34, 36-39, 41-48, 51, 55, 56..  (answer file below)
  • Learning Target 2: Write and identify electron configurations, Lewis dot structures and structural diagrams for ionic compounds. Practice questions to help review: Page 207-209 #s 35, 40, 49, 53, 58, 59, 62, 63, 65, 69. (answer file below) Please note: Given an image of a crystalline structure of a metal, you should be able to match it with its name.
  • Learning Target 3: Explain and identify properties of ionic and metallic compounds. Practice questions for review: Page 207-209 #s 43, 46-48, 51, 60, 66, 68, 70, 71, 73, 74, 76, 78, 79. (answer file below)
