Period #1- Theatre Arts- Students will examine broadway and musical. In small groups the students will research and prepare a persuadive argument as to the next JMH production. Their information will show that that they have a clear understanding of the script, audience, financial expectations, characters for casting, lighting and sound. A Rubric will be provided. Students will have one week to complete the task. Due date Tuesday 20th December, 2011. Period #3- LAW 120- Mock trial- Opening arguments. Proceedure: Judge will declare that all personnel is in attendance. Crow prosecutors will stand and present their opening argument which will include thew charges, the suspect and give an overview of the case presentation. The Judge will discuss with the lawyers about a trial date. Then students will start to build their arguments. They may speak to witnesses, share evidence and do research for their case. All other students will find a court case that is similar to this case and present their findings through the one page case study outline that had been provided. They will continue their research on Friday.  Period #4- Digital sound- Recording in the sound room. . While students are recording, the other students are to work on the other two projects. Finish up recording and questions due at the end of the week.Monday December 19th, 2011 at the beginning of class. Students (Individual) are to research and write a paper on the journey of sound. Students will research the education required and the job options available for sound technicians. They will they respond to the information by writing about which area appeals to them. (1 Page) Secondly students( In pairs)  will begin to look at their next sound project. Students are to pretend that they are building their own sound company. Discuss what type of company do you wish to have? (recording, movie recording, live production ect.)  What type of equipment will they need? Students will produce a 3 page write up on the equipment needed, with pricing. Include the following: Types of cables Mixer speakers microphes- 10 different ones (You will need to think about the different types of mics you will need and how they recieve different sounds.) The investigators will begin gathering the evidence for the crime. Speaking to suspects and have their information ready for the crow and defense by Thursday December 15th, 2011. This will be conducted on their own time. The class will remain continue court proccedings and expectations. Teacher will hand out rubric and explain how each will be graded. Today's class will focus on preparing the witness for opening of trial tomorrow.  Period #4- Digital sound- Recording in the sound room. . Period #1- Theatre Arts- Students will complete the crime story. Include all details and finish the profile for all witnesses. Students will discuss what questions could be answered by the case officers and provide evidence to support the findings. Period #3- LAW 120- Mock trial- Students will each be given roles in their court case.Students will be given roles and the cases will be discussed. Profiles will be handed to students tomorrow. Teach will discuss court proceedure and set dates for court cases and trial dates. Students are to understand that their mark is tied to their effort and participation.  Period #4- Digital sound- Recording in the sound room. . Period #1- Theatre Arts- Students complete writing the script and parts are given out and evidence is collected. Law Class will be assigned roles of the court and the investigation will begin. Court case should be conducted by Thursday of this week. Period #3- LAW 120- Page 174 in the text- The criminal Trial Process. Students will examine the court proceedings of a criminal trial and use the appropriate vocabulary in presenting evidence. Students will examine the meaning of the following: Burden of Proof Direct Examination Cross- Examination Motion for dismissal direct verdict Rebut Surrebuttal Hearsay Evidence Direct Evidence Period #4- Digital sound- Recording in the sound room. Period #1- Theatre Arts- Students finished up scripts this week. Teacher met with students to finish up their ideas. Script will be due on Monday, after class. Period #3- LAW 120- Brian Cummings visit the class yesterday. Please complete the refelction sheet as a quiz mark. Due Monday. Today all students finish their court cases for discussion. By the end of class today students should have a detail write up of the crime and what evidence is left behind, along with 3 suspects that are tied to the crime. The write up should have all the details that is needed for a person to understand what happened and who can provide testimony. Period #3- LAW 120- Brian Cummings visit the class yesaterday. Period #1- Theatre Arts- Students are writing a script. The students are actively involved in research needed to develop their script.        Students are to develop a crime. Point to suspects with evidence. Create background story for each character Produce evidence Finally investigate the mind of the suspect. Period #3- LAW 120- The students will brainstorm questions for Officer Brian Cummings. He will conduct a question and answer period today in the afternoon class. Period#1- Students present their StemExpo presentation of special effects. Students presents their ideas.Period #3- Law- There are a number of interesting cases where evidence has convicted or even freed suspects of crimes. In groups of 3 (A defense, crown and police) research and present to the class a real case study.                                                                    You will first of all explain the crime,Point out the important details of the case proceedings (Discuss the case with the class)Your police will then list the suspects and evidence for each.One member of you team acts as defense and gives their reasons for the suspectAnother is the crown who gives his statement of the case.The class will be the jury to determine the outcome of the case.Then give the result of the case to the class and compare the real court outcome compared to the class.Remember: You are the expert on the case, so you will need to provide and know the information about the case, as each jury member may ask one question that you must answer. (Due Wednesday 30th, 2011)Period #4- Digital sound- Recording students who are ready to lay down instrumental tracks tracks. We will continue this for the week.Period #6- Law- Same as period 2
