English 9  - Today, we did a warm-up using nutrition labels for some mystery cereals, and we took some time to work through and explain the rest of Bloom's Taxonomy for Thinking.  Remember that all parts of your writing process and your final typed letter are due tomorrow.  After that, we'll do an activity using Bloom's and some of your favourite kids' books... English 121 - We took some time to discuss Section II of your novel, then I TRIED to demonstrate how you can use Mocrosoft Word to do all of your citations! Section III is due for Friday (along with the Guiding Question), as well as your Reflection.

Eng 9 - Hi!  Today, you handed in, then we discussed last night's Article of the Week.  Well done!  After that, you enjoyed a little SSR, and we began the introduction to Bloom's Taxonomy for Thinking.  Bam!  Remember that your final typed letter is due on Thursday, along with all parts of the process. ENG 121 - Helo!  Today, we handed in and we discussed your AotW, we quickly reviewed the mental checklist you should use to determine a website's credibility, then you practiced taking/making notes.  Section II must be completed for tomorrow, along with the Guiding Questions.

English 9 - Hi there!  In class today, we reviewed how you are expected to work through your Article of the Week (making text-to-self, text-to-text, and text-to-world connections through TONS of notation), and you were given the Article you are to complete for tomorrow.  It is the first attachment below.  After that, we created the rubric that each class decided for me to use to score your friendly letters.  Remember, the typed final draft is due on Thursday, along with all parts of the process.  You can e-mail them to me at kimc@nbed.nb.ca for printing, if you like. English 121 - Hi!  You were also given your Article of the Week (due tomorrow - it's the second attachment below), we discussed the Guiding Questions for section I of Hiroshima, and we took at peek at a quick checklist to determine whether or not a website is credible.  Section II of the novel is due for Wednesday.

English 9 - Hey!  In class today you enjoyed a little SSR (remember, your book choice is ENTIRELY up to you!), then you were given some time to complete your draft.  It is due on Monday, as we'll be doing some editing then typing up your final. English 121 - Hi there!  Today, you handed in your Reflections, we took a tour of Ebsco, reviewed narration styles, then you had a little time to work on Section I of Hiroshima.  It is due for Monday, along with the Guiding Questions. Have a great weekend!

English 9 - Good day!  In class today, we took a look at how a wonderful comma can make a HUGE difference in what you want to say!  You went from an adorable panda to a huge, hot dog!  After that, I modeled how to shift from your outline page to paragraphs (I gave you that sample, too), then you got to work on your drafts.  For tomorrow, please remember to bring something that you'd like to read for SSR. English 121 - Hi there!  Today, we completed a KWL chart for the topic "Hiroshima", had a say about that, went through the Guiding Questions you'll be expected to consider (to focus your reading before you even start!), and you received your novel.  Your reflection is due tomorrow!

English 9 - Hello!  In class today, we analyzed my letter to you, especially noting the paragraph use and ALL THAT BEAUTIFUL PUNCTUATION!  After that, you were given a graphic organizer to try out in order to complete an outline for the letter you will be writing back to me.  That outline is due for tomorrow, when we will likely begin drafting your letters. English 121 - Hi there!  Today, we reviewed your views on your Article of the Week,  determined your best picks for your Bloom's questions, then reviewed the draft version of the Grade 12 English Language Arts Outcomes from the Dept. of Ed.  Exciting stuff...remember that your Reflection is due Friday, and we'll get rolling with a little frontloading for Hiroshima tomorrow.

English 9 - Hey there!  In class today, we did a little Warm Up with making inferences (poor doggie!), took a look at some information about text features, had a "tour" of the Book-A-Month assignments you'll be doing, then you got back to work analyzing my friendly letter to you.  If that's not finished, then it's for homework!  Tomorrow, you'll be writing the Mock ELPA.  Good luck!   English 121 - Hi!  Today, we took a look at what's expected of your Article of the Week (due tomorrow), then you got back to work creating some wonderful questions for The China Doll.  I loved hearing your conversations!  You'll be using those questions in class tomorrow, so be ready!

English 9 - Hello there!  In class today, we went through your course outline for semester one, and you were given a heads-up about the first assignment we'll be working on together, which will start with your analysis of the friendly letter I wrote to you.  No homework for tonight, but we'll get right to work tomorrow! English 121 - Hey to you, too!  Same as above, we went through our course outline and discussed many of the options available to you during our time together.  Tomorrow, we'll do a brief review of Bloom's Taxonomy for Thinking to sort of re-establish where we want to be, and we'll review a couple of examples of the reflection papers you'll have due each Friday.

English 9 - Please complete your five-question character interview for tomorrow.  Remember, look at the rubric to guarantee yourself a terrific mark! English 122 - We finished the novel today.  Sigh.  You'll have a test tomorrow as practice for your final, and your novel packet must be handed in at the beginning of class on Wednesday.

English 9 - Hi there!  Today, we reviewed the downfall of Shylock, and the irony of his situation with "the law".  We then compared/contrasted the written and movie versions of the play's ending, and noted parallels between characters.  After that, you folks worked on developing the appropriate graphic organizer (then filling it!) to use in identifying the major characters and the level of risk that have taken.  Remember, "He who chooseth me must give and hazard all he hath".  Have those notes completed for tomorrow, as you'll turn them into a pretty nifty paragraph. Oh, your One-Pager is also due tomorrow. English 122 - In class this afternoon, we took some time to review your plausible scenarios and their rationales - great job!  For tomorrow, please complete chapter 4 and develop your own notes and Guiding Questions.  In addition, your reflection is due...and keep plugging away in your novel packets, as well.
